Appraisal Analysis of the News Reports on the Closing Ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games between China Daily and New York Times

借鉴系统功能语言学中评价理论,从评价对象、评价来源、评价立场等三个角度,试图通过对比《中国日报》与《纽约时报》对北京奥运会闭幕式新闻报道语篇,以解析新闻语言背后作者对北京奥运会的立场、观点、态度。

Based on the Appraisal Theory,this paper attempts compare the news reports on the closing ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games between China Daily and New York Times from three perspectives,namely,Appraisal events,Appraisal stance,and Appraisal sources,and analyze the news reporters' stance and attitudes lying behind the news report.
