颜真卿赴洛阳向著名书法家张旭请教笔法,是其成就楷书艺术的转折点。河洛大地现存的颜真卿几件楷书作品,能够清晰反映其前期清瘦、后期丰腴的风格特点,大致体现出他创立颜体楷书所经历的从摸索到成型的过程。
