The development history,service conditions,construction and advantages /disadvantaes of piercing clips are presented.The hidden troubles of piercing clips in the application of distribution system were analyzed.A com-parison was made between the prefab branched cables and traditional distribution cables in terms of merits /defects.The merits /defects of prefab branched cables and piercing clips were discussed.The object is to make the designers and end-users well informed about the actual application and hidden troubles of piercing clips in the application of distribution system.
