On Some Historical Facts about the Xinmin Institute

新民学会是五四时期湖南最具影响力的新型社团组织,是湖南党团组织及湘籍无产阶级革命家群体形成的历史起点和逻辑起点,它的诞生及演变对湖南乃至整个中国的近现代社会都有着莫大的影响。但迄今为止,学界关于新民学会的诸多问题仍存在模糊之处。对新民学会成立的具体时间、会员人数、性质特点及其与湖南共青团的组织关联性等问题进行初步探讨,以将这一课题的研究引向深入。

The Xinmin Institute is a new style community organization that has the most important influence in Hunan in the May Fourth Movement period, and it＇s not only the historical and logical starting point of The CCP and The CYL, but also the starting point of proletarian revolutionary in Hunan. The birth and evolution of the Xinmin Institute have a significant impact not only on Hunan but also on the whole of China. But so far, many issues concering the Xinmin Institute have not yet resolved. Therefore, to push the studies of early institute in depth, this article discusses the time of its establishment, the number of members, the characteristics and the relevance between the Xinmin Institute and The Hunan CPL.
