The data anomaly in a routine test of capacitive voltage transformer is introduced. The fault existence is determined through aspect ratio analysis on test data, dielectric loss factor and capacitance of the capacitive voltage divider. The fault location is found through use self-xcitation method, the fault is verified and treated after disassembly, finally, the cause is analyzed and the suggestion to prevent such fault is proposed.
