简述了虚拟现实（VR）在CAD中应用的产生背景、意义；介绍了目前研究的基本状况及其基本概念和基本内容；综述了当前的一些主要方法和关键技术；分析了目前存在的一些主要问题。最后展望了该研究领域的发展趋势。
Virtual reality has only recently matured enough to warrant serious engineering applications. The integration of this newtechnology with software systems for engineering, design, and manufacturing will provide a new boost to the field of CAD. This paperpresentS some basic concepts, main idea, some methods and key technologies for VR in CADICAM, and their application and futUre work arediscussed.
