The spirit of Xiao（ filial piety ） which essential is respecting and attending on parents has been rendering Chinese moral principle and fundamental life values for thousands years, because it has some rational features and social functions. These features and functions can summarized as follows. the win-win principle included in the spirit can give parents and children benefits at the same time; preferringto parents of the spirit is reasonable and meets the demands of whole family; the spirit accords with the humane nature and can be carried out easily for almost everyone; the spirit also can be regarded as a public spirit and a mental ties of friendships among individuals, families and whole society.
