马帮是历史上云南各民族商品货物运输的主要方式,成为推动云南社会商品经济和对外经济交往不断发展的重要力量。新中国建立以来、特别是十一届三中全会以来,尽管随着云南现代交通运输体系的建设和发展,马帮逐步退出了历史舞台,但马帮对云南现代社会经济发展仍然具有重要的经济价值和借鉴意义。

The trade caravan was the main transport means by the ethnic groups in Yunnan, and also a major force for promoting the sustainable socio - economic development of Yunnan. After the founding of the People＇ s Republic of China, especially after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of CPC, the trade caravan has gradually disappeared when modern transport means have emerged. However, the trade caravan still has some important economic value and significance for the modernization of Yunnan e- conomy and society today.
