摘要
应用乌利希期刊指南数据,分析了:世界范围内学术期刊语言选择现状;科学中心转移过程中美国和德国学术期刊的发展差异与出版语言策略上的不同;科学语言变迁过程中非英语国家学术期刊出版语言的选择。通过分析发现:全球2/3的学术期刊是英语期刊;科学中心从德国转移到美国的过程中,美国和德国在出版语言选择上截然不同;日本、德国和法国等非英语国家重视英语期刊的做法值得中国学习。
Based on the data drawn from Ulrichs Periodicals Directory, the paper analyzes the current distribution of world＇ s major publishing languages, the difference in publishing language strategies and in academic journals development between US and German during the shift of the world science center from the latter to the former, and the selection of publishing languages in non - English countries along with the transfer of world central language. We find that about two thirds of scholarly periodicals worldwide are English journals, and that German and US go different ways during the shift of world science center from Germany to US. China can draw lessons from the experience of non - English countries such as France, Germany and Japan, all of them exerting great importance in producing English journals.
