Historical review of the cracking in arch dams

本文回顾了近百年来若干座有代表性的拱坝坝体开裂的实例;总结了拱坝开裂的理论研究结果和运行经验.最后,对于这种坝体开裂的影响,提出了几条重要的结论.

In the paper, several case-histories of the cracking in arch dams are briefly reviewed; the results of the theoretical analysis and the operation performces are summarized. Finally, the effect of cracks on the behaviour of arch dams is analysed, and some important conclusions are drawn.
