美国公立学校汉语课程设置——以巴尔的摩市公立学校为例 被引量:2

Chinese Language Classes in American Public Schools:The Case of Baltimore City Public School System

摘要 本文以美国巴尔的摩市公立学校为例介绍了汉语课程在美国公立学校系统中的设置与教学。文章列举了美国教育部门对外语课的要求及三种不同的汉语课程设置,同时还介绍了在这三种汉语课程设置中的教材使用情况和考试标准。最后讨论了目前美国公立学校汉语教学中存在的问题。 This paper discusses the recent situation of Chinese language classes in Baltimore City Public School System in U.S.With the rapid development of Chinese language teaching in U.S.,there has been an urgent demand to recruit a large number of highly qualified Chinese language teachers in public schools.To the recruits,the first thing to know is the requirements of the whole public school system.This paper,therefore,introduces the standards that are set for foreign language classes and the three Chinese curricula that are designed by American education department.Meanwhile,it introduces the teaching materials that have been chosen and the assessing standards that are set according to these curricula.Finally it indicates some problems that exist in Chinese language teaching and gives some suggestions for raising the quality of Chinese teaching in American public schools.
