语言水平和体裁对英语学习者作文句法长度的影响 被引量:3

Effects of EFL Proficiency and Genre on the T-unit Length of EFL Learners′ Essays

摘要 句法长度是句法复杂长度指标的重要测量指标,语言水平和作文体裁对英语学习者作文的句法长度有一定影响。研究表明:语言水平对句法长度没有显著效应,体裁和语言水平对句法长度没有显著的交互作用,而体裁对句法长度有显著效应。这说明,句法长度并不是衡量英语专业学生写作水平的良好指标,但它却是区分体裁的一个重要指标。 T-unit length is an important indicator of syntactic complexity.Language proficiency and genre have some effects on the T-unit length of EFL learners′ essays.The study reveals that there is no significant effect of language proficiency on T-unit length,and that no significant interaction of genre and language proficiency are observed for T-unit length.However,it is found that there is significant effect of genre on T-unit length.The results suggest that T-unit length is not an ideal indicator of English majors′ writing capacity,but an important factor in distinguishing genres.
