Pressure and Chance Faced by Jiangxi Civilian-run Colleges

伴随高等教育大众化的不断向前推进,入世后教育市场国际化的发展,以及独立学院的涌现,民办高等学校之间的竞争日益加剧,教师队伍不稳定、教风师德差、学术不精,学生思想品德败坏等危机重重,且愈演愈烈。高等教育大众化的继续推进,以及日渐明显的高等教育市场化趋势,为民办高校发展提供了机遇。同时,高等教育需求由"机会需求"向"质量需求"的转变、民办院校毕业生面临的就业压力,以及独立学院的发展,正在压缩民办高校的发展空间。民办高校要实现可持续发展,必须合理定位,强化办学特色,优化内部治理结构,同时要坚定地面向市场,依法自主办学。

Nowadays,the competition among civilian-run colleges becomes fiercer and fiercer.Teaching body is unstable.Teachers＇ teaching style,ethic and academic level all need to be improved.Students＇ moral character is not good enough.All these phenomenons are more and more serious because of the daily popularization of higher education,the internationalization of educational market after our country＇s entering WTO and the emergence of dependent institutes.The continuing promotion of higher education＇s popularization and the increasingly obvious tendency of higher education＇s marketization both provide an opportunity for civilian-run colleges＇ development.Meanwhile,the change of the demand for higher education from opportunity to quality,the pressure civilian-run college students face in finding jobs and the development of independent colleges make the developing space of civilian-run colleges reduced.If want to maintain sustainable development,civilian-run colleges need reasonable orientation,distinctive school characteristics and optimizing internal governance structure.Besides,civilian-run colleges should face to the market firmly and run itself according to law.
