The Interference of Psychological Biases in Pragmatic Inference:The Cognitive Source of Misunderstanding

前人从话语、语境、心理、社会等角度分析了误解的根源,揭示了误解出现的可能原因,但未能发现误解的本质根源。本研究认为,语用推理过程中,由于心理倾向的干扰,使推理偏离理想模型,这是误解不能从言语交际中完全避免的系统根源和本质根源。

The existing studies display the various sources of misunderstanding from the perspectives of utterance, context, psychology and society, which are the possible reasons of misunderstanding, while leaving the systematic and intrinsic source undiscovered. The present research maintains that it is the interference of psychological biases in pragmatic inference that leads to the divergence of reasoning from the ideal pragmatic model, which is the systematic and intrinsic source of the inevitability of misunderstanding in verbal communication.
