To See the Circumstances of Exile Princes in the Spring and Autumn Period from Chong Er's Experiences

春秋时期公子流亡外国的现象已很普遍,晋文公重耳便是其中的一个典型,通过对重耳流亡经历的个案分析,考察春秋时期流亡公子境况的大致情形,可得出公子流亡外国的行为是在多种因素作用下产生的;公子与收留国之间是双向选择的利益关系;多数公子在流亡过程中拥有较好的经济状况;返国为君的公子只占流亡公子总数的六分之一,绝大部分公子默默无闻,还有的公子在流亡中被杀。

During the Spring and Autumn period, it was common that many princes were exiled trom the country, among which Duke Wen, Chong Er, was a typical example. By analyzing the case of Chong Er＇s exile experience, and exploring the situations of exile princes in the Spring and Autumn period, this paper concludes that the behaviors of princes exiled from their country were affected by many factors. There was interest relationship between exile prince and receiving country. Most exile princes had owned large wealthy in exile, however, the princes who returned home to be officials took up about one - sixth of exile ones, and most princes lived an inglorious life, and the others were killed in exile.
