摘要
从1890年哈佛大学设立大学院长负责管理学生课外生活,到如今美国高校普遍设立学生事务高级管理岗位领导学生事务工作,这一职位在100多年的发展演变历程中大致经历了三个阶段。在每一个发展阶段,其名称、角色、职责、地位和职业素质要求都不断地发生变化。而推动这一发展变化的主要动因来自于美国社会的影响、学生事务专业的发展和从业者的杰出贡献。
Since 1890, Harvard University has already set the position of university dean for managing students' extra-curricular life. Nowadays senior management positions of student affairs are widely established in American colleges to supervise student affairs. The development of this position has gone through three stages in the past 100 years. Its name, roles, responsibilities, status, and requirements of professional competency are constantly changing at each stage. And the driving force behind such development lies in the impact of American society, the professional development of student affairs as well as the practitioners' outstanding contribution.
