基于多译本语料库的译者风格研究

A Corpus-based Multi-version Study of Translator's Style

通过自建中国古代典籍《道德经》的多译本平行语料库,利用Wordsmith进行多层面、多角度的定量分析,以期发现不同译者在类符/形符比、词汇密度、高频词和平均句长所体现的译者风格。通过定量和定性研究发现:国人Lin Yutang译本比国外Lau译本和Waley译本在词的层面上体现出类符/形符比高、词汇密度大的特点,因而能够比较充分地传递古文中所蕴含的意义;而国外译者Lau译本和Waley译本中,功能词使用频率偏高,在句子层面上体现出"明晰化"特点。

Based on self-constructed parallel corpora of Chinese ancient book Tao Te King,the thesis conducted a comparative study of different translators＇ style reflected in the different versions.Applying the Wordsmith tool,the paper collects data of type-token ratio,lexical density,high frequency words and average sentence length.The results of quantitative and qualitative study show that： 1） on the lexical level,Lin＇s version has the characteristics of high type-token ratio and lexical density,which shows he is good at transmitting the implied meanings in ancient books;2） Lau and Waley employ more function words,and on the syntactic level,their versions are characterized by ＂explicitation＂.
