Signal transducer and activator of transcription 4 （STAT4） is an important member of the STAT,the studies in recent years expresses, that abnormal activation of STAT4 is closely related with the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Here we will review the progress on the roles of STAT4 in the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
