新中国学校美育地位的变迁经历了四个阶段:一、1949年至1977年,美育地位从有到无而逐步削弱;二、1978年至1992年,美育地位经历拨乱反正而逐步回归;三、1993年至1999年,美育被写进教育方针,地位得到确立;四、21世纪,美育地位进一步落实和巩固。
