Comprehensive geriatric assessment.

老年人常有多种慢性疾病和不同程度的功能障碍,除了疾病诊治,通过对老年人的体能、认知和心理功能评估,以及对社会经济情况和环境因素的综合评估,可以发现患者存在的问题,制定相应可行的干预策略,尽可能地维持患者的功能,保持其生活自理,提高生活质量。

Summary：Older patients often have multiple chronic diseases and various levels of lunctmnal impairment. As such, comprehensive geriatric assessment （CGA） is critically important in this patient population. In addition to traditional disease-screening and management, CGA aims to evaluate the physical function, mental health, psychological and behavioral status, and socioeconomic and environmental factors. Based on the information obtained from comprehensive evaluation,we can develop appropriate and practical intervention strategies, so as to improve and maintain functional independence and quality of life for the elderly.
