摘要
在激进主义和保守主义共同推动文化现代性建设的历史进程里,吴宓从自己的固有文化视域出发,以《学衡》这一明确反对新文化运动偏激取向的刊物为依托全面展开了对整合的文化现代性理路的深入思索。这种整合中西传统文化精华建立新文化为核心的文化现代性发展思路体现出了比新文化阵营更为健全的文化心态和比一般文化保守主义者更为开阔的文化视野,对其展开重新分析和评价将会有助于我们更深入地认识和思考中国现代文化发展的复杂性和多种可能性的问题。
When the radicals and conservatives promoted the modern cultural construction in the 1920s,Wu Mi launched the journal of Xue Heng as a vehicle for his strong objections to the radicalism of the new cultural movement and his opinion of the integrated modern cultural construction.Focusing on the integration of the essence of Chinese and western culture,his thoughts reflected a more rational attitude than the camp of new culture and a broader horizon than the conservatives.A reinterpretation of his thoughts will surely shed new light on the complexity and the what-ifs of the Chinese modern culture development.
