The EU＇s eastward expansion is actually a strategic initiative of Western Europe,or core Europe,to maximize its security interests in Europe and even the Eurasia at the favorable opportunity of end of cold war.Internally it constrains Germany to realize security in neighborhood;externally it presses Russia and counterbalances the US to realize security in Eurasia.
