摘要
在以皇权政治为中心的中国古代社会,外来佛教中国化的重要变革历程,是受中国皇权政治的改造日益世俗政治化。这主要表现在:其一,佛教依附皇权政治而发展,其兴衰存亡,制约于世俗君主,受专制皇权所直接控制支配。其二,儒佛合一,佛教接受儒家统治思想的改造而成为皇权意识形态的重要组成部份。其三,参与世俗政治,佛教表现出"辅助王化"、服务专制皇权的特殊政治功能。
The localization course of Buddhism in ancient China is featured of secular process in a society shadowed by imperial authoritarianism.The major characters of such secular process are: I.Imperial power had always got Buddhism eating out of its hand;II.Confucianism was unavoidably weaved into Buddhism to cater the ideology loomed large by imperial power;III.Buddhism played as cat's-paw to rectify the secular social activities,which eventually was reduced into a political tool of the royal reign.
