The construction of a harmonious socialist society is an important strategy of the national development currently,affecting various fields of our social and economic development.As an important component of the national information service platform,the public library must be reorganized at the level of information service,thus to meet the harmonious requirements from the nation as well as the general public.The essay,by specifying the information service requirements for the public library from the construction of a harmonious society,tries to discuss the knowledge extension and joint development of the public library.
