Enkianthus quinqueflorus Lour.is a famed flower in South China and widely used for celebrating traditional Yuanxiao festival.This paper provided a general description of ornamental characteristics,distribution in Guangdong province,seed collection and treatment,seedling cultivation and management,and twig-coiling techniques for E.quinqueflorus.Three-year cultivation of seedlings led to the flowering rate being more than 75%.E.quinqueflorus could be considered as a new native variety of flower for extension and application.
