Explorations of the Translation of Fuzzy Language in Daily Conversations

通过从词义模糊、语义模糊两方面以多例证突显构成模糊语的原因和特征,并将模糊语的翻译和"翻译适应选择论"相结合,以"翻译适应选择论"的部分概观为理论框架,探索模糊语的翻译方法,从而在一定程度上采取补偿手段填补流失的意蕴,使目的语读者与原语读者产生相同或相近的感受。

This paper first of all presents the characteristics of fuzzy language at lexical and semantic levels.Next,it attempts to analyze the translation of fuzzy language through the theory of Translation as Adaptation and Selection.Based on this analysis,this paper explores an approach,by way of Translation as Adaptation and Selection,to the translation of fuzzy language in daily conversations.This approach is arguably to fill in the lost meanings,by adopting appropriate compensation methods,so as to produce the same or similar effects on the target reader as on the source reader.
