China PetroleLim ＆ Chemical Corporation （中国石油化工集团）, the country＇s largest oil refiner, has agreed to pay USD 2.45 billion for a 100% stake in the Argentinian subsidiary of OXY, the fourth-largest oil company in the US. The deal is Sinopec＇s first foray into oil production in the Latin American country. OXY＇s Argentina branch has interests in 23 production and exploration blocks in the country＇s Santa Cruz, Mendoza and Chubut Provinces, with total reserves estimated at 393 million ban＇els. Daily oil output reached over 51,000 barrels in 2009.
