Scientific research is the driving force for the advancement in surgery

我国临床外科的巨大进步与医疗卫生事业的投入、人才队伍的建设、基础和临床科研工作的深入密不可分.基础科学研究的成果促进了临床外科的发展,从实验室到病房,再从病房到实验室的转化医学研究已成为当今医学界普遍关注的问题.鼓励基础研究人员与临床医生组成合作研究团队,共享实验室与临床资源,积极培养有科研能力的临床医生,充分开展临床科研,重视多学科协作是我国未来外科事业发展的动力.

The rapid progress in surgery in China has been closely related to government investment in public health care, construction of medical talents team, and basic and clinical research. The achievements of bench studies promote the development of clinical surgery. Translational medicine （bench-bedside-bench） has gained much attention in the medical community. The driving force promoting longterm development of surgery in China includes collaboration of basic scientists and surgeons, cultivation of surgeons with aptitude in scientific research, initiation of clinical research and popularization of multidisciplinary team.
