The present situation and problems of researches and application of CBIS for paper mills in China are analysed. The types of modern CBIS and their various functions. uses and characteristics are also discussed on the basis of the researches both in China and abroad. A newconception of CBIS' integration for Chinese paper mills is introduced and its prospects in the 21st century is provided.
