豫麦４０ 号小麦新品种用豫麦２ 号做母本，大穗７８３ 做父本，进行杂交选育而成，该品种大穗、大粒、中杆、抗倒、抗病性较强，耐寒、耐晚播、抗旱性突出，返青时，两极分化快，小分蘖少，落黄好，成熟适中，公顷产量６ ．７５ 吨，高水肥田可达７ ．８５ 吨．

A new type of wheat named`Yu_Mai 40(a nwe wheat variety)' is crossbred by the Yu_Mai 2(as female parent) and the big ear of wheat 783(as male parent).The new wheat has such good qualities as big ears and grains,medium stem,not_falling proof and it has strong resistance to diseases,cold and drought.It is suitable for later_sowing,when green,it turns into polarization soon.The ranches are only a few,the falling yellow is good and it becomes ripe on time.The wheat yield can reach 6.75 tons every hectare,even 7.85 tons.
