On Zhang Yuan ji's Bibliography Thought

张元济在目录学方面作出了杰出的贡献。他主张采用四库分类法,而又不完全拘泥于其中,支持"增析济其穷"。《宝礼堂宋本书录》和《涵芬楼烬余书录》是版本目录中的杰作,体例完备,著录格式极为规范,具有容易把握和操作的特点,纠正规范化带来的弊病。

Zhang Yuan-ji made outstanding contributions to Bibliography.He advocated the classification of ＂The Imperial Collection of Four＂,but he thought we should increase categories if necessary.＂Baolitang Song Dynasty Books Record＂ and ＂Hanfenlou Ashes Books Record＂ are his classic works.They have complete style and a very standardized record format that is easy to grasp and operate,and correct the shortcomings of standardization.
