摘要
随着现代化科学技术信息的发展,EST在国际上已逐渐发展成为一种重要的英语文体。因此,国内外众多学者对其给予了极大的关注。但是,早期的EST的研究主要集中在一些静态分析方面,比如词汇构成、语法结构等。所以,相应地,也造成传统的EST研究多集中于一些词、句和语法翻译等表层方面,而鲜有结合语境的相关研究。结果是对EST往往是含糊不清、模棱两可等。从关联理论的角度,分析认知语境对EST的制约作用,以期提高EST的效率。
EST(English for Science and Technology) is becoming a specific style of English in scientific and technical fields.So a lot of scholars both at home and aboard have drawn much attention to it and done a great deal of special research on it.The early stage of EST study mainly focused on the superficial level such as the word formation,grammatical structure,which was just the static analysis of register.Correspondingly,the traditional EST translation study merely paid attention to the word and sentence translation.Though it was theoretically meaningful,some problems also arose along with them.For example,some translations are hard to understand or ambiguous.One of the greatest important reasons is the lack of the study of context.In order to promote the communication among countries,this paper will study English for Science and Technology in the sight of restriction of a relevance-theoretical approach to the cognitive context.
