The bilateral relation between China and Singapore has developed rapidly, since they established diplomatic relation 20 years ago. Both sides have maintained frequent high-level exchanges. Bilateral trade and economic cooperation have yielded fruitful results and cooperation in the fields like personnel training has made impressive achievement. On major issues of national interest, the two sides have kept communication and shown mutual respect. The relationship has been characterized by treating each other sincerely, seeking truth practically, and keeping pace with the times. Such encouraging development is not only the result of joint efforts by the two governments and peoples, but also a crystallization of long-standing friendship. It should be emphasized that the close ties between Guangdong province and Singapore have played an important role in promoting relations between the two countries. Looking ahead in the future, we feel fully confident in the China-Singapore relation.
