The mysterious characters and morals of the book Bailu yuan originate from the narration of the mysterious stories and mysterious lifestyle of the people living in the place called Bailu yuan.There are three artistic functions of the book： the plots being intertwined and fascinating;protruding the traits of the characters in the book;manifesting the ideology that man is an integral part of nature.Bailu,a central imagery in the book,shows that the author makes a broad generalization about the traditional Chinese culture and a deep insight into the symbolizing functions of Chinese culture.
