The influential factors of accurate determination of total iron content in iron ores were discussed. According to the theoretical calculations and experimental results, it was found that the complete elimination of the excessive reducing agents was the most important factor. It was related to the selection of indicators and endpoint detecting methods. It was considered that the combination of cerimetry and photometric titration would be a simple, accurate and environmental method for the determination of total iron in iron ores.
