中国工艺美术是一种集装饰、绘画、雕塑为一体的空间性的综合艺术,数十年来,中国工艺美术以弘扬民族优秀传统文化、繁荣民间文化艺术为己任,走过了振兴、发展、繁荣、嬗变四个阶段。今天,我们不仅应当重视工艺美术作为一般商品的使用功能,还必须充分重视它的文化功能,自觉地把握工艺美术作为物质文化形态对营造理想的生活环境、构建和谐社会所具有的现实的积极意义。

Chinese art and craft is a three-dimensional comprehensive art combined with decoration, painting and sculpture. It experiences four phases of revival, development, prosperity and transmutation in decades. Today, we should emphasize not only the function of use of art and craft products as general products but also the cultural function of them. It has a practical significance for people to utilize the art and craft to build ideal living environment and harmonious society.
