摘要
"黄色"由代表高贵、尊严的民族象征色彩词,转成与色情淫秽之指代并列共存、具有内在含义矛盾的词汇,是近代中西文化交汇与现实中国社会政治互动的产物。作为负面贬义的"黄色",表现出传统词义的一种变态,在社会环境演变和语境变量中,因经历所指和能指的开张组合、伸缩变化,与西方语词"黄色新闻"等概念中的黄色原义也有脱离。考察"黄色"内涵迁延演变的历史过程,分析这一转变得以完成的时代因缘和文化意蕴,可以丰富对历史的认识,予人启发。
The Chinese word yellow (huangse黄色),originally the word for a color that symbolized nobility and dignity,has now also acquired the meaning 'pornographic.' The word thus has two inherently contradictory meanings. This contradiction is the result of cultural communication between West and East and social and political interaction in modern China. The negative meaning of the word huangse in Chinese represents a transformation of its traditional sense and also differs from the original meaning of the word yellow in the Western phrase 'yellow journalism' (huangse xinwen黄色新闻). In the course of the evolution of the social environment and the semantic context,the word's signifier and signified have undergone various changes. By analyzing the process of its evolution and change and their historical and cultural causes,we can gain a better understanding of history and stimulate further exploration of this topic.
