Parenting traditionally thought of as "environmental" has components that are influenced by genetics and the percentage is 20~50%.On the one hand, genetic effects would select or evoke exposure to differential parenting environments and both have influence on adolescents' externalizing behaviors. On the other hand, negative parenting may have greater impact on adolescents with genetic vulnerability to externalizing behaviors. Moreover, the interaction between some specific genes and parenting has been confirmed by some researches.
