Chih Tsang and His Monograph:the First Land Economics in China

研究目的:研究章植的生平及其所著《土地经济学》的价值。研究方法:通过文献分析,整理章植的生平,讨论其对土地经济学的贡献。研究结果:章植1930年出版的《土地经济学》是中国学者撰写的第一本土地经济学著作,有鲜明的中国特色,具有重大的学术价值。研究结论:章植及其《土地经济学》在中国土地经济学史上具有重要的地位。

The purposes of this paper are to explore the life of Chih Tsang and assess the value of his monograph named Land Economics. Method employed is to analyze Chih Tsang＇s life and discuss his contribution to the science of land economics via documentation. The results indicate that Chih Tsang＇s Land Economics published in 1930 was the first Chinese monograph on land economics with obvious Chinese characteristics and significant academic value. It is concluded that Chih Tsang and his Land Economics occupy important positions in the history of land economics in China.
