This paper has discussed and compared the two teaching modes of the design and install of telescope and microscope experiment. It has been pointed out that designing experiments could stimulate the students＇ motivation and make them fully exert subjective initiative on experiment principle, experiment content and experiment method. After the training of designing experiments, the experiment and analysis ability of the students have been improved greatly.
