高等院校英语专业学生课外英语阅读调查研究

A Survey of After-class English Reading Activity of English Majors from Universities

大学英语课堂阅读教学时间有限,自由支配的时间多。因此课外英语阅读对提高学生英语阅读水平尤为重要。为了提高英语专业学生英语阅读能力,笔者对湖南高等院校英语专业学生的课外英语阅读情况进行了调查。通过调查发现,英语专业学生课外英语阅读存在许多问题。鉴于对问题的分析,本文着重探索了提高课外英语阅读能力的对策,如提出了增加词汇量,激发学生课外英语阅读兴趣,利用现代设备,了解阅读材料的文化背景,适度增加阅读量,培养学生阅读技巧等课外英语阅读策略。

The time is limited in college class while students have much free time.Hence,it’s very important for English majors to improve extracurricular English reading ability.To improve English majors’reading ability,the writer surveys extracurricular English reading among English majors from Hunan universities.The survey reflects that a lot of problems exist in the extracurricular English reading.Based on the survey and analysis of the existing problems,this paper studies exploring the strategies of improving English majors’extracurricular English reading ability,such as enlarging vocabulary,stimulating students’interest in extracurricular English reading,using modern equipments,understanding cultural background of reading materials,increasing quantity of reading properly,improving students’English reading skills,ect..
