译者的适应与选择——评《诗经·摽有梅》的四个英译文

Adaptation and Selection of Translators——On four of English translated versions of Piao You Mei

文章以"翻译适应选择论"的翻译原则为理论工具,从三维转换角度分析两个外国译者C.F.R Allen,Arthur Waley和两个中国译者卞之琳、许渊冲的《诗经.摽有梅》的四个英译文。通过分析比较,Waley,Allen译文在文化维较多适应原文,卞之琳与许渊冲在语言与交际维更多适应原文。综合来看,两位中国译者的译文多维度适应整合程度高于两位外国译者。

Taking the principle of the theory of translations as adaptation and selection as theoretical tool,this paper attempts to probe into four of English translations of the poem Piao You Mei in the Chinese poetry classic Shijing from the perspective of three dimensions.And we find that Allen＇s version is more adaptive to the original poem at culture dimension while Bian Zhilin＇s and Xu Yuanchong＇s versions at language and communication dimensions.However,generally speaking,the versions of two Chinese translators are better than that of the two foreigners,while Allen＇s is better than Waley＇s between the two foreigners.
