The extraction natures of both Fe and Pb with N 235 in admixture with alcohol for preparation of high pure rare earth were studied.The extraction ratio of Fe and Pb increased with increasing N 235 concentration in organic solution and H + and Cl - ion concentration in aqueous solution,or with decreasing the alcohol concentration in organic solution.The above extractant scarcely extracted rare earth but existence of rare earth in aqueous solution contributed to extracting Fe and Pb.Both Fe and Pb could be removed from rare earth chloride solution and RE 2O 3 containing Fe 2O 3≤1×10 -4 % and PbO≤1×10 -4 % were obtained through multiple stages.
