Among the interpretations of the changes of rural wages in the later middle ages in England,M.M.Postan＇s ＂New Population Theory＂ has been occupying the dominant place.Although the population explanatory pattern has some rationality,it can＇t offer the satisfactory answers to some questions.In fact,besides the population fluctuations,the changes of wages in the later middle ages stemmed from the common influences of many elements,such as monetary supply,legal intervention,changes of living standard,power ratio between employers and employees,and so on.
