Analysis of Differences between Chinese and Western Costume from 13^（th） to 19^（th） Century and Its Reasons

在历史的长河中,中西方服装在诸多方面存在差异,尤其是从13世纪哥特式时期起,中西服装朝着相反的方向发展,直到20世纪,随着中西大交流,中国服装开始吸纳西方立体结构。虽然今天的服装有着向国际化、同一化和标准化发展的趋势,但了解13-19世纪中西服装的差异性及其原因,从中有所借鉴,对今后中国服装的发展是有裨益的。

During the long process of history, differences exist between Chinese and western costume in many aspects, particularly since the 13th century named Gothic period, Chinese and western costume develops toward contrary directions. It is until 20th century that Chinese costume begins to incorporate western stereoscopic structure thanks to the great exchanges between Chinese and western culture. Although today＇s costume has a developmental trend of internationalization, assimilation and standardization, it is beneficial for Chinese costume to understand the differences between Chinese and western costume from 13th to 19th century and its reasons, and draw lessons from it.
