Filial Piety legal system was one of the most important and characteristic of legal systems in ancient China.It is the product of material living standard in a specific time.The existence of it has its reasonable economic foundation.In terms of economic function,filial piety legal system encouraged parents＇ desires of procreation,and created an institutional guarantee for the regeneration of labor,in another words,the breeding and increasing of population.
