论《西厢记》主题的“秀”和“隐”

On the Explicit and Implicit Themes of The Western Chamber

王实甫《西厢记》的主题具有多重意向,既有显性的"秀",亦有潜在的"隐"。显性层面主要是反封建礼教的思想;潜在的层面则见仁见智,主要可解读为:展现了人类两性之爱的至高境界,一曲优秀女性的赞歌,为科举士人圆梦,是王实甫逞才抒怀之作等。体现出经典常读常新的恒久魅力。

The Western Chamber,a drama masterpiece of Yuan Dynasty by Wang Shifu,has multiply-intended themes.The explicit theme is normally considered to reveal the characters＇ fighting against the feudal rites.That what is implicit,however,has been controversial so far in the academic circle.The author of this paper thinks that the implicit themes can be interpreted as an exploring of the ideal state of the love between the male and the female;an ode to the excellent woman;a fulfillment of feudal scholars＇ dreams in personal life;or an expression of the writer＇s own feelings,etc.Such interpretations demonstrate that the everlasting charming of the literary classics can be founded in the reading of the readers who live in different times.
