A Probe into Translating Non- Equivalence at Word Level

翻译就是要准确表达出词语与句子在特定的语言环境中的句法意义、语义意义和语用意义,以实现最大程度的对等。文章阐述了翻译中词层次上的非对等现象,并分析这一现象产生的原因,同时探讨了相应的翻译策略。

The ultimate goal of translation is to convey the syntactic,semantic and pragmatic meaning in the context correctly so as to establish translation equivalence to the greatest possible degree.In this paper,the factors that lead to the non - equivalence in English - Chinese translation at word level were studied.Furthermore,different approaches and translation strategies to deal with this problem were researched accordingly.
