Recently, laser ion source has been studied intensively in the world because of its capability on producing pulsed high intensity heavy ion beams with highly charged states and it could be applied to cancer therapy facilities as an injection ion source. In Dec. 2005, we did the preliminary research on laser ion source. A conceptual layout of our experimental set-up is shown in Fig. 1.
