Cultural Exploitation in the Translation of the Analects

西方学者《论语》翻译中的文化利用至少表现在三个方面:一是以西方哲学和宗教文化概念代替中国思想;二是从中国经典中寻找《圣经》的痕迹;三是利用翻译表达自己的思想观念。《论语》翻译中的文化利用有其合理性和必然性,但是也要反对那种抛弃原文精神实质的滥用。

The translation of the Analects by Western scholars has been marked by cultural exploitation,which manifests itself in three aspects：（1） use Western philosophical assumptions and religious concepts to replace Chinese thoughts;（2） try to find Christian messages in the Chinese classics;and（3） take advantage of the translation to express one＇s own ideas.Cultural exploitation in the translation of the Analects may be unavoidable or even reasonable to a certain degree,but should not be abused to the detriment of the original ideas.
